Thank You Skip – Glenn Retires

Glenn Wilson, one of the key players during the club’s Isthmian League era, hung up his boots on Saturday after our last game of the season against AFC Croydon Athletic.

Glenn has given outstanding service to the club since making his debut six years ago during the 2020/21 season which was declared null and void because of Covid.

He has gone on to make 143 appearances for the Wasps, many of them as captain since Drew Cooney took over as first-team manager in 2022.

Glenn has been a popular player both in the dressing room and with the Grin Army because of his committed performances in the heart of our defence… and his accuracy from the penalty spot!

Drew said: “It’s the end of an era in a way because Glenn has been a mainstay of the team for a while now and a massive support to me as manager.

“He has often played through injury to help the team and has been a big presence in the dressing room with his inspirational and committed performances. It’s a sad day because Glenn’s boots are going to take some filling and it goes without saying that he will always be welcome back at the club.”
