Disability Team

It may be wet, it may be muddy, but being part of East Grinstead Town Jubilee Hub Football Club’s disabled team is the highlight of Mitch, Dean and Sean’s week: 'We like being part of the football team as we are making new friends, bonding and we enjoy being a team,’ .

The disabled footie team grew out of the weekly social drop in at the Jubilee Community Centre, the Jubilee Hub. Designed to be a place to connect with others, The Hub meets every Wednesday and welcomes around 30 disabled people and people living with mental ill health, isolation or dementia. 'The Hub is ten out of ten, it is like my family. It helps me get out instead of staying in looking at the four walls. It’s fun and we do good things,’ commented one regular.

The Jubilee Hub team is officially affiliated with East Grinstead Town Football club and you can find out more about our progress on our pages here. We play in the Sussex Disability League where we are already making our mark! We have recently received our brand new kit and have coaching and support from East Grinstead Town FC which has been a great boost. The team trains every wednesday during the Hub, either at the centre or in the local park, and it is always fun! The team welcomes men and women of any skill level, and we are looking for new players to join us. We are also looking for help with managing the team and fundraising, so please get in touch with Anthony here if you are interested or are would like to find out more via the Hub
