Introduction To East Grinstead Town Football Club

This is just a short introduction to welcome you to the club for this 2008/2009 season. The football club was founded in 1890 although the youth section was formed in 1997 following the merger with two local youth football clubs. The club is dedicated to providing football in the community and runs four senior mens teams, a veterans team as well as numerous junior teams from under 7s to under 18s including a girls' team. There is a friendly atmosphere in the club and we hope that you will come down to the clubhouse and take full advantage of it.

Matches - Adults back to top Go to the top of the page

The first Team play in the Sussex County Football League Division One on our ground at East Court, home to the club since 1967. Our reserves play in the Suburban League South Division and we also run third and fourth teams in the Mid Sussex Football League. For more information on senior (adult) football at EGTFC contact club secretary Brian McCorquodale at brian.mcc@egtfc.co.uk

On First and Reserve match days the clubhouse is open for refreshments, and hot snacks are available from the tea bar during First Team matches.

We like to involve all the youngsters as much as we can and one way is for them to lead out our first team as our match day mascot. They will get free entry to the match, refreshments and a pre-kick off photo with the team captains and officials, as well as a mention in the match programme. It's a great opportunity for them to experience the pre-match preparations and atmosphere. Another way is for them to be involved is as a volunteer ball boy/girl. If you are interested in being a mascot or ball boy/girl please contact our commercial manager, Lee Quinn at lee.quinn@egtfc.co.uk

All our teams play in the club's colours of amber and black.

Every junior and youth player is presented with a trophy at the end of the each season at the annual presentation. Trophies are also presented to the Player's Player, Manager's Player and Most Improved Player of each team.

Raising Funds back to top Go to the top of the page

As a club our only income is from gate receipts at senior matches, bar revenue, membership fees, fund raising events and the generosity of our sponsors.

The clubhouse is available for private function hire - for details email Richard Tramontin at richard.tramontin@egtfc.co.uk.

We have a "Big Screen" TV in the clubhouse for the big football matches and other sports events.

Join our "200 Club"! We hope this new venture will bring in funds for the club. The idea is to have 200 members each paying £1 a week (collected by direct debit at £4 monthly). Each month a draw will take place 50 per cent of the monies will go to the winning number and 50 per cent will be ploughed back into the club. All you have to do is contact Gary Willsher on 01342 327162. Why not join together as a family or get your manager to buy a number for the team.

Every year we hold the town's biggest Firework Display at the ground together with the Lions Club. It is a dazzling display and a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed by all who attend.

Another event, albeit non-profit making, is our Footie Fun day. All the local primary schools, children's clubs and organisations are invited to attend. This now an annual event during May, so watch out for the date and enter your teams.

For details of all senior home games visit our website which is updated regularly. Match photographs for the site will be provided by First Focus and the webmaster is Chairman Richard Tramontin. To contact him email richard.tramontin@egtfc.co.uk

Sponsorship back to top Go to the top of the page

We can't thank our sponsors enough for their generosity which has paid for numerous items, from small amounts which purchases things like First Aid bags, to larger amounts such as a whole team kit are so valuable to the club. Every little helps, if you are interested in sponsoring the club or a particular team, please contact Lee Quinn at lee.quinn@egtfc.co.uk or on 07881 530085. The club's main sponsor for the past 18 seasons has been The Rydon Group. This sponsorship is a record for a club in Sussex.

Maintenance back to top Go to the top of the page

We have a band of volunteers who generously give up time on Saturday mornings (and occasionally during the week) to maintain and prepare the pitch and facilities. Without their efforts we'd be unable to stage the matches and events at the ground. Please let us know if you are willing to lend-a-hand.
