Saturday 3rd November
Gates Open: 6.15pm, Firework Display: 7.45pm
Ticket Prices: Family £15 (2 adults + 2 children under 16), Adults £7, Children £3
EAST Grinstead Town Football Club are once again staging the town's biggest and best fireworks spectacular on Saturday November 3.
This year's event is sponsored by Waitrose and will be the best ever with a professional fireworks display by Aurora Fireworks.
Food stalls will be open all evening including the East Grinstead Lions Club with burgers and hot dogs.
The club's tea bar in the main stand will be selling mulled wine, teas, coffees, soups, chips, cold drinks and sweets.
There is a fully licensed bar in the clubhouse and given its immense popularity, there will again be a Real Ale Trailer and Tent, sponsored by W J Armstrong, with a wide selection of beverages on offer including: Harvey's Bonfire Boy 5.8%, Millis Winter Witch 4.8%, Dark Star Festival 5% and Harvey's Best Bitter.
Attractions this year include music and commentary by Meridian FM, the local radio station that starts broadcasting again from East Court in November,
plus pre-event entertainment from the East Grinstead Football Academy and United Sparx an East Grinstead based Cheerleader / Dance Troupe.
There will also be a children's ride, trampolene and alley game.
The event takes place at the club's East Court ground with gates opening at 6.15pm. The fireworks display will start at 7.45pm sharp.
Some 2,500 people attended last year's event and there is plenty of room for everyone. But the advice is to get
there early so you can claim the best possible vantage point.
A family ticket, which admits two adults and two children under 16, costs just £15 and admission for adults is £7 and children £3.
The event is fully supervised and stewarded to ensure the safety of the spectators. A fully equipped St John's
ambulance and crew will be at the ground throughout the event.
There are now two covered stands just in case the weather isn't kind and one stand incorporates three wheelchair spaces.
The best advice is to make your way to the ground on foot as there will be strictly no parking at East Court,
except for emergency and disabled vehicles.
The ground entrance is off Holtye Road, at the bottom of Blackwell Hollow, and will be well signposted on the
night.

East Grinstead Town Football Club together with their sponsors Rydon Group present a very Special Evening
SPORTSMAN'S DINNER
With our Special Guest Speaker
Matt Le Tissier
Friday 8th June 2007
7.30 for 8.00pm
at

London Road, East Grinstead, RH19 2BH
Three-course set meal (with vegetarian option) plus sporting memorabilia auction
Join us for a first class night out with 'Le Tiss', comedian Gary Kemsley and compere Terry Baker.
Guernsey-born Matt earned his famous nickname of 'Le God' from the adoring fans for his fantastic service to the club. He played 540 games before retiring in the best way possible by scoring the last ever goal at The Dell, Southampton's famous old former ground, in 2001 when he came off the bench to score the winner against Arsenal.
Matt will be reminiscing about his Southampton days, his fanastic record from penalties (he scored 49 out of 50) and his all too brief England career. Despite impressive displays for the B team and under-21s, he was only capped eight times by his country between 1994-98 and his great talent was never displayed on the world stage.
He might even mention that he has had a plane named after him by the Flybe airline on his home island of Guernsey!
Since retiring, Matt has been a regular on Sky Sports' popular Saturday results programme and he is now a highly regarded and amusing after-dinner speaker.
It's guaranteed to be a great night and tickets will sell out quickly, so hurry!!
Individual tickets & Corporate Hospitality tables for 10 are available now
The price is only £60 per person payable in advance

Rydon continue to support Wasps......
EAST Grinstead Town believe they have created history after extending their sponsorship deal with the Rydon Group for a remarkable consecutive 15th season.
Chairman Richard Tramontin said: "There is certainly no club in Sussex at our level who have enjoyed such fantastic backing as we have had from Rydon over the years.
"They have been great supporters of the club since 1991 and we are grateful for their continued backing. Running football at this level is a costly business and without their help we would struggle to provide football in the community for the hundreds of adults and youngsters who come under the East Grinstead Town banner.
"Their support is really appreciated by everyone associated with East Grinstead Town."
Wasps are now trying to ascertain whether there is a senior football club in the country who have had the same main sponsors for such a length of time.
The Rydon Group are a construction and development company which has been based in Forest Row for over 25 years. They also have two offices in East Grinstead and employ over 600 staff.
Mike Gearon, Chairman of Rydon Construction commented, "We are extremely proud to have been associated with East Grinstead Town Football Club over these years. If this is a record, it is largely because of the great efforts that the Club has made to deliver value to its sponsors. We wish the Wasps a very successful season this year."

As the phrase "They Think it's all over....it is now" passes into the vocabulary books, Sir Geoff is the man who made sure it really was all over for Germany. He scored the third goal of his hat-trick in the dying moments of the 1966 World Cup, as the crowd streamed onto the pitch sealing the victory over Germany. Sir Geoff is still the only player to have ever scored a hat trick in a World Cup Final.
Sir Geoff made his name with club side West Ham United, with whom he had 499 league and cup appearances, scoring 248 goals. He was Player of the year three times and won the F.A. Cup with West Ham in 1964 and the European Cup Winners Cup in 1965.
Sir Geoff received his knighthood in 1998

THE events in south-east Asia on Boxing Day 2004 touched the lives of people around the world, including East Grinstead.
As part of the fundraising effort to ease the plight of the millions who face the prospect of having to rebuild their shattered lives and their communities, the club decided to do it's bit.
Gate and programme receipts totalling £207 for the home game against Three Bridges on Tuesday, January 25, were donated to the Tsunami appeal.
It's only a small gesture, but at least our supporters and those of Three Bridges did their bit for those a lot less fortunate than ourselves on the other side of the world.

RESPLENDENT in their East Grinstead Town kit are the players of Lamin
Village from Gambia, West Africa.
The club were asked to donate old kit by a work colleague of our own committee man Alan Woolley who then goes out to Gambia to distribute it among the football-mad youngsters out there.
On his last visit, two East Grinstead kits were passed on and, believe me, they are gratefully received. Some of the lads don't even take the shirts off except to wash them!
Old kit and boots which players may have outgrown are always wanted for the trips to Gambia and if anyone would like to donate anything please pass it on to Alan who will make sure it finds a home.
Let's hope that the kit brings success to the players of Lamin Village and those in Samyang village who have received one of our old youth team kits.
Remember: Give your old kit to Alan and you will be making a youngster in one of the poorest parts of the world so happy.

Greavesie was probably the best finisher England has ever had, but was famously kept out of the 1966 World Cup Final team by
Geoff Hurst. In just 57 starts for England, he scored 44 goals. Most of his career was spent at London clubs:
Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham.
From his unsurpassed record as a Spurs and England striker to his Saturday lunchtime show with Ian St John, Jimmy has become one
of football's best loved characters. With his irrepressible wit and charm, Greavesie will take you on a 'mazey' run through a
fascinating footballing life - as only he can!!
Jimmy will also be joined by top comedian Mike Pugh
and compere Terry Baker

WELCOME back to a new season of football at East Court, one which we are looking forward to more than most because it is our
first back in the top tier of Sussex County League football for ten years.
Our first game since winning promotion back to Division One will be on Saturday, August 16. All we know at present is that
we will be at home and the kick off will be at 3pm. Details of the early season fixtures will be posted on the website as
soon as they become available.
Bob Smith and the players are already back in pre-season training ahead of our first friendly which is on Saturday, July 12
- the earliest ever start to a Grinstead season - when we play Haywards Heath at Ardingly College, kick off 3.00pm.
The only friendly at East Court will be on Saturday, August 9 v Lancing, kick off 3.00pm.
The reserves start their programme in the Premier Division on August 16 having also won promotion last season.
Off the field we have done a lot of work during the summer to bring the ground up to the standards required, both for
Division One and the FA Cup which we are entering for only the second time since 1982.
Among the projects we have completed during the close season are: completion of hard-standing path around entire pitch
perimeter with re-positioning of handrail on stand side; new storage garage at clubhouse end and re-seeding of pitch.
Those are the major jobs: lots of other tidying up has gone ahead and is still in progress and we hope you will all notice
the difference when you turn up to watch our first game.
Unfortunately, we were unable to secure the funding we needed to install seats in the existing stand which was our plan at
the end of last season. Our aim now, with help from the Football Foundation, is to erect two 50 seater stands either side of
the floodlight pole on the opposite side to the stand. This will be done in time for the start of the 2004-05 season and we
are currently applying for planning permission for the new buildings.
I know several supporters 'bought' seats in the stand last season. I have managed to contact most of them and all are happy
for their donation to go towards a seat in the new stands when they are built. But if you would like your £30 towards the
seat fund refunded please get in touch with me when the new season kicks off. Once again apologies to anyone who will be
disappointed.
To help raise more funds for the club we have appointed a business manager. He is Tim Reynolds and he will be working with
Dave Tidy. If you know of any company who might be interested in taking out a programme advert, match or match ball
sponsorship or perimeter board with the club please contact Tim via the website. He will have his own link on the site
shortly.
We still have vacancies to fill on the committee including social manager and general manager (football). These are
important posts and it would be great if we could fill them as we gear up for an exciting new era at East Grinstead Town.
If you are interested in either of these positions, or would like to get involved in another way with the club, please
contact us via the 'Contact Us' section on the website.
That's all for now. I will endeavour to keep you up to date with all that is happening as we approach the big kick-off. In
the meantime, thanks for your continued support of the club.
Bruce Talbot (Chairman)
